Partners of the Americas is a non-profit, non-partisan international grassroots network. We connect volunteer, institutions and communities to serve and to change lives. A network engaging 10,000 volunteers through over 100 chapters each year, Partners is unique in the Americas. We are women, men, youth leaders, teachers, parents, doctors, business owners, students, retirees, carpenters, farmers, Republicans, and Democrats all committed to a more peaceful and prosperous hemisphere.
Through the leadership of our own volunteers, we are embarking on an exciting campaign to raise $150,000 by March 31, 2011. This campaign will help us continue to support the Partners network and empower our chapters and volunteers to help turn their ideas for a more sustainable and prosperous Western Hemisphere into a reality.

As a people-to-people volunteer organization, investing in our volunteers is critical. As volunteers, we want to contribute to the efforts of Partners to deliver on its mission to Connect, Serve, and Change Lives. That's why a group of us has gotten together and committed to raising $150,000 through our first annual Partners’ Campaign. For each dollar donated, Partners is able to leverage many more to build sustainable programs and support our volunteer's as they connect, serve and change lives.
For over 45 years, Partners has made it possible for ordinary people to make extraordinary changes in the lives of thousands. We do so by connecting volunteers with other passionate individuals with a shared desire to make our world a better place. For Paula Laschober, a lifelong volunteer with the Washington/Chile partnership, it's simple:
"We know that our volunteer work with Partners has meaning. It literally changes the world. Sometimes, when people ask me why I do it, I say it's my small contribution to world peace."
Partners helps build relationships that make change possible.
When our volunteers in Haiti set out to train impoverished families to help them supplement their incomes, Partners put them in touch with a volunteer veterinarian in Northern California. Today, over 700 families are raising rabbits and have found a sustainable way of improving their livelihoods and communities.
This is just one example of how the Partners network of volunteers comes together to help each other change lives and turn ideas into concrete actions. Your support will help us transfer resources, knowledge and talent to our volunteers and help them achieve the change we all want to see.

About Me: We write bios all the time about what we do but not always about why we do it. I want to convey the impossible "why" in a few words: I feel so fortunate to spend each day working with and for volunteers who care so much about the world around them. We are often inundated with pessimistic news and platitudes about how the world is going down and how nobody cares. I know that isn't true, because I see hope every day in small and big actions and ideas. We must celebrate -- and support with our resources -- people who carry this spirit with their voices and their actions. Please join me and consider spending at least what you might spend for a dinner or two in a restaurant to empower people who not only speak to making a better world, but who are doing it daily and inspiring others to do the same. That is what Partners of the Americas is all about, and it is an honor to work for such committed volunteers.
