Japan experienced the largest earthquake in over 140 years on March 11th at 2:46 p.m. Soon after, a massive 10 meter high tsunami slammed onto Japan's coast, causing immeasurable human suffering and physical damage. Initial estimates are that thousands of people have perished and even more are injured. Donations made to Citizen Effect's Japan Earthquake Relief Fund will support victims of this tragedy through the Red Cross and other organizations working on the ground in Japan.
The Japanese are in need of relief services, including clean water, food, shelter, and health care. This fund will be used to provide those life saving services to the Japanese people.
The extent of the damage from the earthquake and tsunami will not be known for months to come. However, we do know that millions of people are affected. People are homeless, without water, food and medical attention.
Citizen Effect will be donating all of the funds raised through this effort to the American Red Cross's Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami fund, which is providing relief and emergency services to the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan.
