This privacy policy is applicable to the CitizenEffect.org website (www.citizeneffect.org) and all services and information provided through such website. Personally identifiable information is any information in Citizen Effect’s possession that is associated with a specific user of the website (such as a name or e-mail address). It does not include aggregate information, which is general demographic information (such as the number and frequency of visitors to CitizenEffect.org). Citizen Effect may track visitors to the website in an aggregate form to allow us to update and improve the website. Personally identifiable information is not extracted in this process. Citizen Effect may use or disclose aggregated (not personally identifiable) information for any purpose.

We will not release or distribute your personal information except to Citizen Effect’s affiliates for purposes of the services provided through the CitizenEffect.org website, or with your prior consent.  However, Citizen Effect may share information without your consent in response to legal process, such as a court order or subpoena, or in special cases such as a physical threat to you or others or other situations where, in good faith, CitizenEffect.org deems that such disclosure is legally required. Citizen Effect has in place reasonable safeguards designed to protect the privacy of all personal information and reasonable measures are taken to prevent the unauthorized disclosure of personal information.

When you make a donation, the third party which processes donations will collect private information and Citizen Effect encourages you to review the privacy policy followed by that third party when doing so. 

We may use your contact information and information about your activities as a Citizen Philanthropist so that we may provide you with other opportunities for Citizen Philanthropists.  If we do contact you for this purpose, you will be told how you may ask us not to contact you in the future.

Privacy and Children Online

Well will not knowingly collect or maintain any personally identifiable information from children under 13. As a result of the foregoing, Citizen Effect does not provide a mechanism to obtain parental consent.

If you are a parent or guardian who has discovered that your child has submitted his or her personal information, Citizen Effect will make reasonable efforts to delete the information from its database, at your request. To request the deletion of your child’s information, please send an e-mail to [address] and be sure to include in your message the same member name and password that your child submitted.
