Chili Night for Kapurashi Village

Dear Kate and John,

Namaste to you from all the members in Kapurashi village. 10 water tanks and 10 toilets have been constructed in our village. Due to good rains thisyear, our water tanks are filled with water. We also use the toilets constructed in our village.

We also let our neigbours use the toilets constructed. Especially when they are sick or cannot walk or there are old people we let them all use our toilets. These toilets are very helpful to us as the trees in the surroundings...

Great News!

Lyons Township English chair Toby Casella and instructor Ann Dudek contacted Dan about forging a writing relationship between students at LT and the villagers. Dan and SEWA (Self Employed Women’s Association) are working out the technological and language difficulties, a promising opportunity for students to connect with others half a world away. Also the LT Social Action Club under the sponsorship of Nicole Galliuchio and Ann Dudek organized a Pastapalooza event to benefit 1Wel1 on December 10th. Dan and John were present to answer questions and help eat the pasta. The students raised $500 towards a project to help Indian orphans. It is terrific to have so many segments of the LT population assist in the 1Well effort.

Thanks so much for your generous donations and participation in our 1Well ChiliFest at Lake Katherine last October. Dan Morrison, the Founder of Citizen Effect / 1Well, was delighted by the turnout and enjoyed speaking to all of us about how a simple dream is becoming a reality.

Meanwhile, good things continue to happen.
