Hi!

My name is Maha Syed and I helped raise the money that will hopefully assist you with sending your daughters to school. I work in international women's rights work and hope that, one day, I work for an organization with as direct and far reaching an impact as SEWA.

While I am American, I come from a Bihari-Muslim family that migrated to Pakistan during partition. My own parents and aunts and uncles have witnessed and experienced the tragedy of religious riots in India and Pakistan. It is unbelievable to me that this kind of evil still exists in the world and I am so sorry that you fell victim to it. We are all dealt tough hands in life but yours has been particularly difficult and your efforts to educate your daughters against all odds is a testament to your spirit. That I could do anything at all to ease the burdens unfair circumstance have thrown on your shoulders is an honor of mine. I hope that your girls are able to continue their education and perhaps, one day, their daughters will never know this kind of violence.
