About Me: Hello, Fellow Philanthropist! My name is Nita and I am so excited about this project in hand. I was introduced to Citizen Effect through a friend and I immediately wanted to be a part of this community. I am a health care provider and an entrepreneur who knows firsthand that little changes do make such a big difference. I hope to make a positive impact in these childrens' lives so that they can grow up healthy, happy, and self-sufficient. All it takes is one step at a time. Napad Vanta is a small village of agricultural laborers and tobacco factory workers. As the tobacco industry is the largest employer in Napad Vanta, the majority of the villagers and their families are exposed to serious occupational health hazards. The lack of full-time, quality childcare for children of workers forces many parents to bring their children to the tobacco factory where they are exposed at a young age to unhealthy conditions. The Napad Vanta Childcare Center currently cares for between 35 to 40 children, all of whom are under the age of six years old. The center is dedicated to fostering children's physical and intellectual growth and counseling their parents in establishing a healthy learning environment at home. However, it is unable to meet the costs of supplies, foods, and salaries for the upcoming year.
