About Me: I am a junior in high school and am on the community service board, and have volunteered at hospitals during my holiday breaks. Pediatrics was a particular interest of mine, as I love helping children in any way I can. The opportunity to help children and their mothers, and even fathers in India is so important to me, and I would appreciate any donation- however small- just to make their dream of childcare to come true.

PROJECT SUMMARY

Kahela is a small village of agricultural laborers and field workers in Rajasthan India. There is no childcare facility in the village, forcing many parents to bring their children with them to the agricultural fields. This project will start Kahela's first childcare center to provide quality childcare, pre-primary education, and healthcare to 25 children between three months and six years old. The center will also provide children with 2 hot, nutritious meals a day. The project will support all operating costs for the center, including chalkboards, notebooks, books, writing utensils, toys, games, food, and the teacher's salary for the upcoming year. The center focuses on the overall development of the children, including their physical and intellectual growth, and also counsels parents on how to foster a learning environment at home. Become the Citizen Philanthropist for this project and partner with Kahela village to create a positive educational environment for their children.
