About Me: I am a yoga teacher and executive coach based in Washington, DC. I have been a Citizen Philanthropist since Citizen Effect was founded and think its just one example of what makes this world city and its people so great! PROJECT SUMMARY
Dungra village does not have a childcare facility, and as a result children are often left behind on their own while their mothers work in the fields. Carolyn's project will fund a SEWA-supported childcare center that focuses on the overall development of the children, including both physical and intellectual growth, for 25 village children. Founding a childcare center in Dungra is essential for the health, education, and well-being of its children. The center will provide children with a healthy, encouraging learning environment, nutritious meals, educational field trips, and immunization and primary care. The full-time childcare center will enable mothers to engage in income-earning activities and start on the path to financial self-reliance. In addition, the center's faculty and staff will also help counsel parents on how to foster a learning environment at home.
